Timothy 5:16a

If any believing man or woman has widows, let them relieve them, and do not let the church be burdened, that it may relieve those who are really widows ¡¦

James 1:27

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Mission Statement

Our goal is reaching and ministering to people¡¦by meeting needs.

  • To help with minor maintenance and repairs (not improvements) in the homes of widows and single women.
  • To share our faith by showing ourselves as those who have hands like Christ.
  • To develop awareness in our congregation; and to encourage gifted men to join with our workforce to meet the needs at hand.

Who Can Do This?

We are asking that men with the gift of helps, encouragement, service, or a heart of caring for others, volunteer their time, skills, abilities and effort.

How Will We Accomplish This?

The Coordinator of the HH Ministry and his assistants will review projects ahead of time. The Coordinator and his assistants will visit the sites (if necessary) to assess the job. They will determine the number of men, the level of expertise and just what tools or equipment may be required for each project. They will make sure that the materials and the necessary tools to complete the task are communicated in advance and are available for the HH teams to complete their task.

The Helping Hands Ministry will meet once a quarter on Saturday mornings @ 8AM for breakfast and prayer.

Dates for 2007
Feb. 3
May 5
Aug. 5 & Aug. 11
Nov. 3 & Nov. 10

After prayer, men wil be sent out in ¡°teams¡± to perform the work requested. Most projects will be completed
before noon.

God has put on the hearts of several of our FBC family members the desire to start a ministry called Helping Hands. This ministry will aid widows and single women who need a "helping hand" with simple home repairs.
