I was saved during my senior year of high school; in 1959, and surrendered my life to full-time Christian service at a youth camp held in the summer of 1960. That autumn, I entered Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri as a Missions Major.
Upon graduation from college, I accepted a position as Associate Pastor and Youth Director of the West Gate Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida. My wife, Diane and I were approved as Missionaries by the Baptist Bible Fellowship International to Korea in February 1968. Our first two years in Korea were spent learning the language in the capital city of Seoul. Afterward, we moved to Pusan, a southeastern city of over three million people.
During our twelve years in Korea, God blessed us immensely. We saw 19 churches established with over 19,000 people saved. Today those churches average 3,000 in attendance.
Sensing that God was directing us back to the states, we accepted the call to the Pastorate of the First Baptist Church of Aston, Pennsylvania.
During our first eight years, I was Chairman of the Missions Department of the Baptist Bible College East in Boston, Massachusetts. I have served three terms as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. I later served as First Vice President over Missions
This year, 2005, the church celebrated its 50th anniversary; January, 2006 will be my 25th year serving at First Baptist. The church has seen marvelous growth, now averaging over 300 in worship attendance.
Every good and eternal blessing that Diane and I have experienced is because of Him. |
